IO Interactive reveals 1.7M Kane & Lynch: Dead Men units sold

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men made it into stores back in November 2007. The game apparently opened to controversy and mixed reviews where it was not well-received by all gamers. It however appears that the game may have received a better response than earlier fathomed. Director of Kane & Lynch 2, Karsten Lund discloses that Kane & Lynch: Dead Men did well in sales.

Karsten Lund told VG247 in an interview, “It didn’t do well in reviews, but it did very well in sales.” He further added, “I think we did 1.7 million. That’s pretty good for a first shot on a franchise, so it makes a lot of sense for us to do a sequel – and I think people will want to check it out before they buy it, and they should be my guests.”

It seems like the sales figures quoted by Lund are higher than the last figures acquired for the game. In March 2008, the figures were noted to be 1.4 million. The sequel namely Kane & Lynch 2: Dogs Days is scheduled to hit the scene later this year and is expected to unfurl on the EIDOS games label.
