Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games will Sell 4 Million Units, says Sega

Earlier this year, two of the biggest heavyweights in the video gaming industry, Nintendo and Sega announced Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games, which pit their respective characters against each other. According to Bloomberg, Sega Sammy Holdings has stated that the game will reach 4 million units after it goes on sale this year.

Sega game software division’s corporate director Masanao Maeda spoke at the Tokyo Game Show yesterday, but refused to give a specific time period for the sales target. The prediction will be equal to nearly one-fifth of games Sega Sammy sold in the year that ended on March 31. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is being developed for the Nintendo DS and Wii. The game is expected to release later in 2007.
