Mini games always add up to the fun! Well, Electronic Arts (EA) knows this very well and that’s why they have signed up Barca forward Ronaldinho to appear as a customized character exclusively for the Wii version of FIFA 08. He is the first professional football player to do so.
Ronaldinho will now have his own mini game in FIFA 08. Gamers will have to play as their self-created Mii character to unlock the superstar and take on him. Each Footii Party game has been created by EA as a multiplayer, social experience. Brazilian International Ronaldinho said, “My character looks like he enjoys playing football and shares my passion for the game. This is important to me. Whether you are playing football on the pitch or my party games in FIFA 08 on the Wii, it should be a fun and enjoyable experience.”
Tim Tschirner, Senior Producer explains, “When Ronaldinho steps on to the football pitch, he plays with passion and energy. We’ve brought that same spirit to FIFA 08 on Wii – it is fun, high-energy entertainment the entire family can enjoy.”
As of now, FIFA 08 is under development at the EA’s studio in Vancouver. It will release in Fall 2007 for the PS2, PS3, PSP, Nintendo DS, Wii, Xbox 360 and the PC as well as for the mobile. However, I feel that they should have included more football stars especially Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney as well as the players who will be on the covers.
