Resident Evil 4 HD to Invade PSN This Week, PS Plus Subscribers get 50 Percent Discount

No one can doubt the popularity of Resident Evil 4 and even as its HD version gears up to hit PSN tomorrow, gamers would be pleased to know that the game is being offered with a 50 percent discount to PS Plus subscribers. The PlayStation blog announced recently that a re-mastered version of the 2005 title will release on Sony’s digital media delivery service for the PS3.

Set in 2004, this game takes place in a rural village located in Europe where a mysterious cult has kidnapped the President’s daughter. On their journey to save the girl, players would encounter a horde of violent villagers who pledge their lives to this cult. This title was originally released for the GameCube but was later spawned for various platforms including the PS2, PC, Xbox 360 and Wii.

“Now’s your chance to relive one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time. Resident Evil 4 HD will be released via PlayStation Network on Tuesday, September 20th. Five years after the Raccoon City outbreak, Leon S. Kennedy is back in action and on a new assignment. The President’s daughter has been kidnapped by a mysterious cult in Europe and it’s your mission to rescue her and make it out alive. The entire Resident Evil 4 experience has been remastered in high definition and will be a treat for both new fans and RE veterans,” stated, Mike Lunn, Product Manager, Capcom, on the blog.

Those who purchase this title through PSN on its launch would receive free RE4 avatars. Moreover, PS one versions of Resident Evil 1 Director’s Cut, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis would also be doled out at 50 percent less rates on the PS Store. These three titles would however be available for free to Plus subscribers.

Resident Evil 4 HD is all set to hit PSN tomorrow and the 50 percent discount to Plus members means that the game will retail at 9.99 USD (approx Rs. 472) for them.
