PopCap Games had promised to bring to PS3 users, all of their titles in association with Sony Online Entertainment. Previously delivered Bejeweled 2 and Zuma have done very well, and now Associate Producer at PopCap Games, Michael Santora, writes on the PlayStation Blog that Heavy Weapon, a side scrolling shooter, has been released on the PlayStation Network.
The game makes use of the DualShock analog sticks and gives players the ability to move and shoot in independent directions. The game has been appropriately adapted for the PS3 and includes online and local multiplayer. The PS3 version also features several trophies which can be earned by players.
Heavy Weapon for the PS3 has an additional feature that is bound to make higher levels far more challenging. Players’ weapons will now cause damage to their own supply helicopters. So if you manage to shoot down your supply helicopter, you will have to battle the baddies with less power ups.
Apparently PopCap Games is working to bring Feeding Frenzy 2 and Peggle to PS3 users before the year draws to a close. And Santora says that PS3 owners can expect a really cool experience from Peggle.
