Military Madness: Nectaris Arriving on PSN

First released in 1989, the original Military Madness game introduced US gaming fans to the addictive turn-based strategy gameplay style. Now, according to a post on the PlayStation Blog by Kyle Vincent Tunison, Designer, Backbone Entertainment, Military Madness: Nectaris is coming to the PlayStation Network.

The turn based-strategy game boasts of 20 different types of units, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Players take turns moving their squads over 6 different terrain types. The type of terrain dictates the defensive and attacking levels of a squad. Military Madness is more about employing clever tactics than resource management. Gamers can repair affected squads by capturing factories but cannot do anything if the squad gets completely destroyed.

The single player experience of the game features all of the 32 classic missions from the original TurboGrafx-16 version including 16 levels for the advanced campaign missions and 16 for the normal campaign. The game will feature improved graphics and new AI while providing players with 20 to 30 hours of fun filled gameplay in the single player campaign.

The strategy game supports up to 4 players in online and local play mode. It also has 10 Vehicle Upgrades, 10 original multiplayer maps tailor made for 2, 3, or 4 player gaming, scoreboard matches with competitive settings, AI-controlled opponents, 10 Support Abilities for the new Commander squad along with free-for-alls and team games.
