Square Enix Ships 100 Million Final Fantasy Copies

Originally kicked off on the NES, the Final Fantasy series has traversed through different landscapes including the Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PS2, PSP, Nintendo DS, PS3, Wii and Windows PC. With an itinerary this expansive, it is more than obvious that its makers have managed to sell more than just a few million copies. Square Enix recently announced that the sales chart of the Final Fantasy franchise has crossed a mark of over 100 million units.

Weaving together engrossing storylines with refined visuals and audio, the series has received warm reception from various corners of the realm. The company recently revived one of the games in the saga as it released Final Fantasy VI on the PSN. Besides, the legacy of the series is anticipated to strengthen further as Final Fantasy XIII-2 hits stores later this year in Japan. It was a part of the gaming giant’s lineup at the recently concluded E3 2011.

With this accomplishment, Square Enix has a reason to beam and celebrate. We hope that the company will allow gamers to do the same by unfolding an innovative adventure via their upcoming titles.
