Phantasy Star Zero For Nintendo DS Releasing in Western Countries, says Sega

A few days ago, Sega had revealed that the PSP game, Phantasy Star Portable, would be released sometime in 2009 in the western countries. But there is one more Phantasy Star game for a handheld platform. Now Sega has sent word that Phantasy Star Zero for the Nintendo DS would be released in the western countries.

Phantasy Star Zero is set after the Great Blank events and gamers will assume the role of the Hunters. They will have a choice of three types of races, classes as well as gender and there are a total of fourteen customizable character types. The game also features more than three hundred and fifty unique weapons. Gamers will unravel the mystery of Great Blank. Phantasy Star Zero has support for the wireless and full Wi-Fi multiplayer options. Players can even make their own Visual Chat commands, which can be used in multiplayer modes.

Gary Knight is the European marketing director for Sega Europe. He says, “The Phantasy Star series has enjoyed great success because of its spontaneous gameplay, unique style and engaging online multiplayer modes, we are therefore very excited to premiere the first Phantasy Star game on the Nintendo DS. With the advanced features of the Nintendo DS, Phantasy Star Zero will excite fans of the series but will also appeal to a new generation of gamers.”

Phantasy Star Zero for the Nintendo DS has been developed by Sega. The role-playing game is expected to release sometime in the winter of this year. Sega has promised that they will release more details soon. The Phantasy Star Zero game has already been released in Japan.
