Electronic Arts (EA) has revealed in a financial report that the much awaited God game, Spore has been delayed till fiscal year 2008. That means the evolution simulation game will definitely not come out before March 31, 2008.
Warren C. Jenson, CFO, Electronic Arts said, “We continue to have enormous confidence in Spore as a franchise but have made the call not to include this title in our fiscal year financial plan.”
John Riccitiello, CEO, EA said, “I’ve had the chance to review the title three times in my short return to EA, and it looks fantastic.”
Riccitiello also mentioned that Spore could be pushed back to the second quarter of 2008, as it is a big challenge to make a sim game. Electronic Arts is also developing a version of the Spore game for the Nintendo DS. But it was not revealed whether the PC version and the handheld version will release at the same time.
