Every Consumer Will Ultimately Go Online, Says EA’s Peter Moore

One aspect of video games that has developed tremendously in the last few years is online gaming. Earlier it was the PC platform, but now we have Xbox Live and PSN for the console gamers. Now games news website GamesIndustry.biz is reporting that Peter Moore from Electronic Arts has stated that every consumer will ultimately go online.

Peter Moore

Peter Moore is the president of EA Sports. He explained, “You are talking to a company here that truly believes that every consumer will ultimately go online, whether it’s five years from now. You’re talking to a company that ultimately believes that physical media goes away, that how we get our media – whether its games, we’re already doing it through music, or if its TV shows – it’s going to go through Internet Protocols more than it is through cable or satellite.”

Moore asserted that Electronic Arts will be leading the charge but said that they will not get marginalized as they will still be bringing out physical discs. According to the ex-Microsoft executive, retail stores too can play an impact on digital distribution. Moore spoke about retail playing a big part in music sector.
