Halo: Reach’s beta is right around the corner and the entire community seems to waiting with bated breath for it arrival. It sort of reminds us of the time when Doom was being uploaded onto servers so that the community could finally get their keys to hell, which would later on be a building platform for first person shooters.
Bungie’s Reach seems to be running on a similar adrenaline base which looks to engulf all shooters that have been released so far and turn the tables on them by giving players an experience they will never forget. A lot of new features have already been dissected in vivid detail by the developers themselves with their periodical updates both on Bungie.net and Nobleactual.com. This has been followed up by a plethora of developer diaries that have discussed various facets of the gameplay ranging from the single player campaign to the multiplayer one.
They recently released a new vidoc yesterday titled Carnà ge Carnivà le that showcases the many new modes and gameplay types which are being added into Reach. While discussing the multiplayer maps for the game, one the developers mentions the existence of the maps in the multiplayer mode being available for the single player campaign mode for Reach. Around the 4:11 mark in the video, Marcus Letho exclaims that, “This time around we decided to integrate the multiplayer maps within the campaign”.
This is to remind you guys that it is not the first time Bungie would be doing something like this. Last year, when they released ODST and introduced the mode of Firefight, the maps that were made available for the game were the maps from the single player campaign mode which is unlocked after The Rookie plays through all the segments of the game.
We think that this statement could be indicative of putting in the feature of Firefight which was previously included in the game. The Firefight Mode has often been compared to Gears of War 2’s Horde mode, where each wave of enemies become progressively difficult than the previous one. We hope to hear more information regarding this as E3 2010 draws close this year.
