The battlefield for Medal of Honor will soon unleash dynamic action from arid terrains in Afghanistan. As the title prepares to land in the gaming domain, EA has announced that the Multiplayer Open Beta for the game will initiate early next month. The company has also revealed that it will be recruiting PC gamers to participate in this Open Beta.

Kunar Base Map

Unfurling two new maps, the Open Beta will thrust gamers into severe regions including Kunar Base and Shahikot Mountains. In the former, players will need to battle it out with their opponents for controlling strategically important sectors. This map can be played in the Sector Control multiplayer mode while Shahikot Mountains will involve an objective-based Combat Mission multiplayer campaign. Armed with advanced arsenal and a new weapon customization system, players can battle it out as two opposing teams with each comprising 12 in both modes.

“The Open Beta of the Medal of Honor multiplayer mode will allow players to sample the authenticity and adrenaline-fueled action that the full game will offer on October 12. We also hope that by offering the Multiplayer Open Beta, we can clear up any misunderstanding about the patriotism and respect that are the foundation of this game. The Medal of Honor franchise has always shown extraordinary reverence for American and Allied soldiers — this game is no exception,” commented Frank Gibeau, President of EA Games Label.

Earlier this year, a Closed Beta Test was conducted for the title which allowed thousands of gamers to experience the intensity of this installment in the series. Incorporating feedback received from these players, Developer DICE has endeavored to load a superior chapter in the franchise. The multiplayer campaign of the title is said to boast of authentic settings, weapons and powerful action through its dedicated server support.

The Multiplayer Open Beta for Medal of Honor will enable gamers to steal a glance of the upcoming title, before it hits stores later next month. The title has been scheduled for an October 12, 2010 release in North America. Slated to start on October 4, 2010, the Multiplayer Open Beta will continue till October 7, 2010.
