PT Boats: Knights of the Sea will use DX10

Moscow-based video games developer and publisher Akella has sent word that their forthcoming naval action simulator, PT Boats: Knights of the Sea” will take advantage of DirectX 10. The development team of PT Boats: Knights of the Sea are working with NVIDIA engineers.

They have also uploaded two pictures which compare the DX9 and DX10 versions of PT Boats: Knights of the Sea. The upper one is DX10 while the lower one is DX9:

Dmitry Arkhipov, CEO, Akella Development comments, “Delivering the gameplay with great visual and audio experience is the key challenge for PT Boats developers. We are sure that our participation in NVIDIA “The Way It’s Meant To Be Played” support program and enabling latest GPUs features on DirectX 10 and DirectX 9 platforms will make the game even brighter for all the naval game fans to enjoy.”

Anton Kaplanyan, Lead Programmer, PT Boats: Knights of the Sea says, “NVIDIA’s GeForce 8 Series GPU’s are being used as the reference graphics platform for development and testing making many enhancements possible in the DirectX10 version.”

PT Boats: Knights of the Sea will be published in Russia and CIS by Akella but there is no word on the world publisher. The game is expected to be out in the fourth quarter of 2007.
