Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD Headed to Consoles in Summer 2012

Activision Publishing has gone on to announce that Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD, which is a reboot of the popular franchise will be launched for consoles in the summer of 2012. Developed by Robomodo, this title will be released as a digital download and will apparently include the much loved elements from all the classic THPS games. It will also kick in fresh updates to proffer gamers with an all new skateboarding experience.

The controller-based gameplay in this title will be centered upon the basic idea that has featured in all the previous games and involves linking tricks for maximum points. According to Activision, a cutting edge yet timeless experience is on offer through this title’s sharp visuals and enhanced controls.

“Tony is not only a legend in the skateboarding world, he’s an American icon that has had a major impact on video games. We couldn’t be happier to be working with him again. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD just feels right – we’re simply giving fans what they’ve been clamoring for,” commented, David Oxford, Activision Publishing.

Professional skateboarders including the likes of Nyjah Huston, Eric Koston, Andrew Reynolds, Chris Cole, Rodney Mullen, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins (Pastrana), Riley Hawk and Tony Hawk himself, would all be making their way into the game. Ever since its inception in 1999, a total of eleven mainstream games have been released under the Tony Hawk’s franchise, the last among them being Tony Hawk: Shred in 2010.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD will be outed this summer as a digital download for consoles. It is expected to be priced at around 15 USD (approx. Rs. 780).
