FIFA 22 Headed To EA Play And Xbox Game Pass Ultimate This Month

FIFA 22

If you’ve been holding off on getting FIFA 22, there’s some good news at hand since the game is set to enter the EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate catalogs soon. June 23 is when it will be made available through both the services, as confirmed by EA.

FIFA 22 arrived in October last year and while it received immense praise for the improvements in gameplay it brought along, heavy criticism was directed towards its loot box mechanics, something EA has constantly been at the receiving end of. That didn’t stop its sales from booming though, as is the case every year.

Xbox gamers will be able to play FIFA 22 at no extra cost with their Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriptions. Same goes for EA Play subscribers but it’s worth noting that this membership is offered as an incentive with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. This also means that those with only an EA Play subscription on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC can also get into the game.

FIFA 22 marks the final game in the series with the FIFA branding. Following almost three decades of games under the moniker, the company will release its future titles under the EA Sports FC branding. FIFA, the governing body of world football, has said that it will allow “third-party studios and publishers” to produce video games going forward. However, no announcement has been made so far regarding which studio will receive the rights next.

Meanwhile, there’s growing speculation that next year’s football game from EA will be free-to-play and feature cross-platform support. However, nothing official has been said on the matter yet.

As we said, June 23 is when FIFA 22 will hit EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
