If you are one of those who love to play top-down shooters, then PlayStation Network is the place you should head to! Tiki Games has put up its classic shooter Novastrike on the PSN. The game is the first self-published to be made available on the PlayStation Network.
This is what Kevin McCann, the director of development at Tiki Games had to say about it on the official PlayStation Blog:
- NOVASTRIKE is a free-roaming top-down arcade shooter where you’re flying an advanced fighter and combating the Draelus invasion. Yes, aliens are pretty single-minded in that regard. Airborne enemies consist of fighters, aces, kamikazes, bombers and capital ships, and you’ll also need to deal with enemy ground installations. Fortunately the ship you’re flying – the Scythe – can acquire and upgrade weapons over time. And there are nine weapons total, each with three additional upgrade states, to aid you in sending the Draelus to the great beyond.
Novastrike will be up on the PSN on June 5, 2008. Well, that is today! In a reply to a commenter, Kevin McCann has revealed that the game will come with a price tag of $9.99 (approx. Rs. 425). He clarified that Novastrike does not have online gameplay but cooperative play is high on their list of things they want to do with the game.
