Fallout 5 Will Be Bethesda’s Next Game After The Elder Scrolls 6

Fallout 4

Known for being overly secretive about its games, Bethesda has been on quite a roll these past few days, with the studio now having spoken about Fallout 5 as well. The game, which was obviously known to be in the pipeline, will start being worked on after the release of The Elder Scrolls 6.

And as you may know, development on The Elder Scrolls 6 won’t go full steam until Starfield is released next year. So there’s no point in framing a release period of either The Elder Scrolls 6 or Fallout 5.

This new information comes straight from studio director Todd Howard, who was speaking to IGN in a one-on-one interview. “And, you know, we’re going to be doing Fallout 5 after that, so our slate’s pretty full going forward for a while. We have some other projects that we look at from time to time as well,” he revealed.

Throughout this chat, Howard stressed how Starfield is the main priority for Bethesda at the moment. He also said that its main story will take around 30 to 40 hours to complete.

Starfield will also feature 1,000 explorable, procedurally generated planets as well as more handcrafted content than in any previous Bethesda game. These will include four cities, among which, New Atlantis – showcased in the 15-minute gameplay reveal – will be the biggest city the developer has ever made.

The Elder Scrolls 6 was first unveiled back in 2018 but nothing official has come out ever since. We do know though that due to Microsoft’s purchase of Bethesda parent ZeniMax Media, the game will likely only arrive on Xbox and PC, just like Starfield.

As for Fallout 5 and The Elder Scrolls 6, we’ll keep bringing you more on them as and when new details are out.
