SimEarth: The Living Planet comes to American VC

Nintendo has added a few games to the Wii Shop Channel and Nintendo DSi Shop this week. The line up includes three games for WiiWare and a game each for the DSiWare and Virtual Console services. Drill Sergeant Mindstrong, Neves Plus and Family Mini Golf have been released for WiiWare. SimEarth: The Living Planet is available on the Virtual Console while Art Style: Boxlife has been released on DSiWare.

SimEarth: The Living Planet

The first game for WiiWare is Drill Sergeant Mindstrong which is a mind training game. Players have to assume the role of boot camp trainees who are put through various mind training challenges while under the hardened Drill Sergeant Mindstrong. The game is published by XSEED Games and can be downloaded by redeeming 800 Wii Points. It supports up to 4 players.

Next in line for WiiWare is Neves Plus. The gameplay contains elements from the tangram-based gameplay found in the original DS version and supports up to 4 players. The players have to move, rotate and flip 7 Lucky stones into silhouette puzzles. There are over 500 puzzles and new multiplayer modes like Speed, Versus, Party Mode and Lucky Number. The game is priced at 600 Wii Points and is published by Yukes Company of America.

Family Mini Golf

The third game to be released for WiiWare is Family Mini Golf. The game allows up to 8 players to use the same Wii remote controller as they play their way through several golf courses. These courses are laden with numerous obstacles like fans, speed ramps and bumpers. There is an option to download new courses as well. Family Mini Golf, published by Aksys Games, can be bought for 500 Wii Points.

SimEarth: The Living Planet has been released on the Virtual Console. This simulation puts the player in charge of an entire planet. The player has to try to nurture new life forms and encourage their evolution into more intelligent beings. The user has to make minute adjustments in several atmospheric and geological parameters so that the life forms can flourish. Apart from Earth-like environments, the game also includes environments from other planets such as Mars and Venus. SimEarth: The Living Planet is a single player game published by Hudson Entertainment and is available for 800 Wii Points.

The game which is on offer for DSiWare is titled Art Style: Boxlife. In this single player game the players have to make use of the DSi Stylus to cut and maneuver paper into box shapes while taking care not to waste paper. The Factory mode allows a player to earn money by making as many boxes as possible from an endless sheet of paper. Users can also learn new patterns and earn various ranks in the R&D mode. Players can clear ranks to get promoted, change character appearances and also earn items for the character’s garden. The game is published by Nintendo and can be purchased for 500 DSi Points.

Nintendo adds new titles to the Nintendo DSi Shop and the Wii Shop Channel every Monday at 9 am Pacific Time. Users with broadband internet access can download these games by redeeming Wii and DSi Points. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel while Nintendo DSi Points can be purchased in the Nintendo DSi Shop.
