DSiWare Delivers Cave Story, Frenzic and More This Week

Thanksgiving festivities are gradually coming to an end but Nintendo doesn’t seem to be approving of gamers settling for any less enjoyable titles that were previously accessible. The publisher has listed the classic-platformer Cave Story, frantic puzzler Frenzic and Spot It! Challenge as officially available via DSiWare for players to enjoy.

Heading the download queue is Nicalis’ Cave Story featuring classic platform-adventure mechanics. In a unique world where a curious race of innocent rabbit-like creatures called Mimiga scurry around freely, the game awakens its players in a dark cave with no memory of self-identity or whereabouts. As they progress further and discover Mimiga Village, they find that the once-carefree Mimiga now face a threat from a maniacal scientist. The quite, amnesiac boy is the only person who can learn the origins of this world’s power, stop the delusional villain and save the Mimaga.

An intriguing puzzler Frenzic is the next offering which is crafted to visually amaze and captivate its players. Requiring only a few minutes to learn, the game presents ways to invent new and impressive strategies which can test the gamers brains’ mettle. Allowing them to contend against their best scores and ascending through seven levels of Devotion from Newbie to Frenzic Master, the title is published by Two Tribes and is available over DSiWare this week.

Spanning across cleverly set scenes based on the popular Spot-It book series published by Capstone Press, Spot It! makes players race the clock in search of veiled objects in 10 distinct puzzles. Players can tap on the hidden objects using the stylus, and navigate the vibrant play areas which make spotting objects enjoyable and challenging. With hundreds of objects across ten themed puzzles based on Outdoor Sports, Boards Games and Fun with Food, the Spot It! allows gamers to engage in a multiplayer match with three of their friends by means of the ‘Pass Around Play’ feature. Each participant in the multiplayer has to spot the objects and then pass it on to the next player in three levels of difficulty, namely Easy, Medium and Insane, providing a worthwhile replay value.

The classic platformer Cave Story carries a hefty price value of 1,000 Nintendo DSi Points while Spot It! Challenge and Frenzic are available for 200 Nintendo DSi Points each.
