Xbox Live TV to Hit Markets this Christmas

Looks like Santa might be having some fruitful deals lined up for Xbox 360 gamers as it is believed that Microsoft will be launching the Xbox Live TV just in time for Christmas. This TV service will apparently feature live television, on-demand services and Kinect integration. It was originally announced by Microsoft at this year’s E3.

Citing a CNN interview of Steve Ballmer, Chief executive of Microsoft, Eurogamer has revealed that the Xbox Live TV service will indeed be made available this holiday season. Microsoft is believed to be working with ‘dozens or hundreds of additional video content suppliers’ to provide Xbox 360 owners with live TV content. This service will be powered by Bing and users would be able to navigate through it using the voice command features of the Kinect.

Steve Ballmer is said to have commented, “Having all of that content is right on, it’s fantastic, but it brings a new challenge with it. Certainly we all know the frustrations of using guides and menus and controllers, and we think a better way to do all of this is simply to bring Bing and voice to Xbox. You say it, Xbox finds it.”

News, sports and other content will be provided to subscribers of this service. Pricing and availability details of the Xbox Live TV were not disclosed by Ballmer in the interview. The launch date too is yet to be announced by Microsoft.

From all the information that we have right now, it is confirmed that Xbox Live TV will be made available to Xbox 360 owners this Christmas. Gamers will be kept posted with all the latest information regarding the service.
