Microsoft rolls out New Games and Deals for Xbox Live Members

Gaming systems are apparently packing in wholesome entertainment for the entire family nowadays. Microsoft announced the extension of Facebook, Twitter, Zune and Last.fm to Xbox Live Silver members in addition to unleashing new games, deals and discounts for Xbox Live members.

Saints Row 2

The social networking sites, music and Zune video services which was previously released for Xbox Live Gold members was extended to other members from November 20 to November 23, 2009. Gamers were given an opportunity to participate in 1 vs 100 Season 2 trivia showdown that was broadcast through Xbox Live last week. They were given a chance to win 1 vs 100 badges as well as perform unlockable signature Avatar jigs such as ‘the Elaine’ or ‘the Carlton’.

Fable II: See the Future by Microsoft Game Studios and Peggle by PopCap Games will be out at 400 Microsoft Points apiece while Death Tank by Snowblind Studios will cost 800 Microsoft Points this week all across the world. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 by Sega will be made available in the week of November 30, 2009 for 240 Microsoft Points everywhere excluding India. The aforesaid titles are available to Xbox Live Gold members only.

Games on Demand will feature single-player game Battlefield: Bad Company by EA, Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures by LucasArts and Saints Row 2 by THQ. They will be unleashed on November 24, 2009, with the first title being released only in Japan, the second globally except for Japan, and the last everywhere except for Japan and Mexico.

EA’s offering is an unconventional single-player story with appealing sandbox gameplay. THQ’s creation is a sequel that opens years after the original and requires players to restore the Saints as Stilwater’s rulers and wreak havoc on their enemies. LucasArts’ game takes players on a journey through South American jungles to mountainous Indian terrain and so on as they trail Dr. Jones’ exploits.

Madden NFL Arcade

Xbox Live Arcade has three new offerings for gamers – Gyromancer by Square Enix, Diner Dash by Hudson Entertainment and Madden NFL Arcade by EA. The first two titles have made their debut everywhere except for Korea while the last one is scheduled for a global release on November 25, 2009. The Square Enix and EA titles cost 1200 Microsoft Points each while Diner Dash is tagged at 800 Microsoft Points.

Gyromancer requires gamers to play Rivel, the deadly maze attempting to vanquish a brooding darkness from Aldemona Wood. The T-rated game has players collecting monsters utilizing Bejeweled Twist battles and progressing through 10 levels. Diner Dash gives players the chance to compete online and become the best restaurateur in the guise of Flo as she manages four diners. Madden NFL Arcade is a 5-on-5 football game from EA Sports. The last two titles are rated E by the ESRB.

Microsoft’s latest offerings for Xbox Live members are principally holiday season-centered and claim to have something for everyone in the family.
