Worms Collection Hitting PS3 and Xbox 360 Next Month

Three past games from veteran developer Team 17 Software have been bundled into the Worms Collection which was announced yesterday for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Slated to hit stores across Europe on August 31, 2012, this pack is yet to be priced.

Worms Collection 1

The collection will contain the original game as well as Worms Ultimate Mayhem and Worms 2: Armageddon along with a total of six DLC packs. This series first debuted in 1995 and has since spawned a number of games which tread on the turn-based strategy genre. The newest of the lot is the upcoming Worms: Revolution which will be released for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in September.

Nick Clarkson, Team 17 Marketing Director, commented, “There’s only one thing more dangerous than a worm with a big gun, and that’s three Worms with big guns. We’re over the moon to see these three titles buddying up on one disc and heading to retailers, and unless your heart is completely cold and wormless, I reckon it’s a fairly irresistible proposition.”

One of the three titles included in the pack is the first game from the series which in 2007 had also made its way to PSN, Xbox Live and iOS. Worms: Ultimate Mayhem which launched last year via PSN, Xbox Live and Steam also makes its way into the pack as a remake of two previous games – Worms 3D and Worms 4: Mayhem. The final title in the collection is Worms 2: Armageddon which came in 2009.

Team 17 is still to confirm the pricing of the Worms Collection. It will be out for the PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 31.
