EA Sports 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa Soundtrack Revealed

Back in January this year, EA Sports announced the latest 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. Just last month, the company revealed that fans of the sport could pre-order the title at the Game4u online store. Now to further entice gamers, Electronic Arts has disclosed the international soundtrack of EA Sports 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. The offering comprises of 28 artists plucked from across 20 different countries. These include USA, Ghana, England, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Sweden, India, Italy, Somalia, Chile, South Africa, Portugal, Belgium, Holland, Senegal, Jamaica and Nigeria.

We’ve brought together such legendary African artists as Nigerian drummer/activist Babatunde Olatunji, Senegal icon Baaba Maal, and ‘The Bob Marley of Ghana’ Rocky Dawuni, with global superstars like Sergio Mendes and Nas & Damian Marley. But we’re perhaps most proud of K’NAAN, the unsigned Somali artist we discovered in 2004 whose music has now appeared in five different EA Sports video games.”

A playable demo of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa on the PS3 and Xbox 360 can be downloaded from the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace respectively. Players can indulge in gameplay with Italy or Spain as well as experience the title via new players to the FIFA franchise. The demo also employs a new accessible control scheme which comprises of just two buttons. Players can upload their replays from the demo right onto the EA Football World.

Besides the Xbox 360 and PS3 systems, the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa can also be enjoyed on the Wii, PSP and iPhone. The game is scheduled to unfurl into North America on April 27, 2010 while gamers in Europe and Asia can get their hands on a copy of the game three days later on April 30, 2010. No word yet on the exact pricing details.
