Gamesindustry.biz now reveals that Ashes Cricket 2009 has become this week’s number one best selling game in the UK. The title has toppled Wii Sports Resort from the acme spot on the UK video game charts.
It is also noted that the company known as Codemasters is the first UK publisher to grab the top position on the United Kingdom’s all formats chart since 2007. The acclaimed title landed on the premier spot at the as the week came to a close on August 8. Earlier, Nintendo Wii Sports Resort dominated the charts for two whole weeks. It sold nearly two million copies worldwide.
Wii Fit descended one place lower to third place while Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 fell to fourth place. Taking the fifth spot on the chart is EA’s Fight Night Round 4. The wizard boy-genius Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince slipped two places to come in sixth. According to GfK Chart-Track, in seventh and eight places is Ubisoft’s Call Of Juarez: Bound In Blood and Mario Kart Wii respectively.
After the release of the movie, Disney’s film namely G-Force climbed up 18 places to grab the ninth place on the list. Rounding up the UK top ten video game lists is The Sims 3 which fell three spots from seventh to tenth.
