PS Vita turns aqua blue, but only for the US as of now

Sony hasn’t forgotten the PS Vita, even the though the number of games being doled out for it may have decreased with the onset of the PS4. The Japanese company has launched a new aqua blue variant of the handheld console that will be released in the US on November 2.

It will be sold exclusively via GameSpot which has already started taking pre-orders for the device now. Sony has priced its new aqua blue PS Vita at $199.99 USD (approx. Rs 13150). The hardware is of course the latest slimmer and lighter model that has been selling in the US only in its black color variant.

Of course, this model only supports Wi-Fi connectivity, giving 3G support a miss. PS Vita is no longer just a tool for playing games built particularly for it, as it was back when it was launched. Gamers can now stream PS4 content on it, while they can even take advantage of the nifty PlayStation Now service.

Its multi-touch capacitive touchscreen gives a whole bunch of new possibilities for developers to add to their games. Same goes for its rear touchpad.
