Sony’s treating North America with a PS Vita Slim Borderlands 2 bundle

The handheld version of one of 2012’s most revered shooters, Borderlands 2 has received a great incentive ahead of its launch, for it has been bundled with the new and improved PS Vita Slim model as far as North America is concerned. Sony however hasn’t announced a released date for the 199.99 USD (approx. Rs 12,500) package, as the game is still apparently in development. But it has indeed been confirmed that the bundle will be arriving in North American territories sometime this spring.

The limited edition package will contain a black colored PS Vita Slim Wi-Fi model (PCH-2000 series), an 8GB memory card and a copy of Borderlands 2 as well as six of its DLC packs. These include Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Psycho Character Class, Mechromancer Character Class, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 and the Collector’s Edition Pack.

The new PS Vita Slim comes equipped with about a 20 percent slimmer and a 15 percent lighter form factor than its previous iteration, whereas it even kicks in better battery life. On the design side of things, it grabs hold of rounded edges that add more comfort. And instead of the OLED display of the previous model, this one features an LCD panel. All major functions of the device of course remain the same.

Announced for the handheld in August last year, Borderlands 2 is already available to play on the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Mac. For those not in the loop, it’s a first-person shooter laying heavy emphasis on role-playing elements and cooperative gameplay.

Like we said, the Borderlands 2 PS Vita Slim bundle does not have a release date yet, but it is expected to be launched in North America during this spring.
