PS Vita Slim hitting North America on May 6 as Borderlands 2 bundle

We heard news in February that the PS Vita Slim will be hitting North America in the form of a Borderlands 2 bundle, and we now have a definite release date to look forward to. It has been announced by Sony that this package will hit store shelves on May 6. Moreover, it has also been revealed that the Vita version of the popular game will start selling individually on May 13 in digital and physical form.

The PS Vita Slim Borderlands 2 bundle will be sold at a price of 199.99 USD (approx. Rs 12,000). It will include the new slimmer and lighter PS Vita Wi-Fi model with 1GB of inbuilt memory, an 8GB memory card and a copy of the RPG-FPS hybrid developed by Gearbox Software and ported to the handheld by Iron Galaxy Studios.

Apart from an overhauled design, this new model of the device features an LCD display instead of its earlier OLED panel. Furthermore, it happens to be 20 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter as compared to its initial version. The new setup also allows the PS Vita Slim to dish out additional battery life.

Talking about the PS Vita version of Borderlands 2, it should be known that it will come equipped with all the main DLC packs which have been lunched for the game till date. Additionally, gamers who own a PS3 copy of the title will even be able to utilize the cross save attribute to seamlessly alternate between the home console and the handheld without losing the progress on either.

The PS Vita Slim had gone official back in September last year but only for Japan. It was in January this year that it made its way into the UK priced at 180 GBP (approx. Rs 18,000). And now, it’s finally ready to hit North America at the above mentioned price of 199.99 USD (approx. Rs 12,000).
