Jet Set Radio Also Coming to the PS Vita

Sega’s Dreamcast classic, Jet Set Radio which first came out back in 2000, has grabbed a PS Vita port which is also slated to release along with its home console and PC versions this summer. Fans awaiting this HD re-mastered game will be able to catch a first glimpse at this year’s E3 which is all set to commence on June 5, 2012.

Apart from HD visuals, the game also features the same much loved soundtrack of the original version. Since this is a Vita game, it has been designed to take advantage of the various traits the handheld has on offer. Players will be able to interact with the environments with the touch functionality of the Vita, while its camera will supposedly make spraying graffiti more natural. Moreover, it has also been revealed that this port comprises of all the content that the console and PC versions embrace.

“The fan reaction to our recent reveal of Jet Set Radio has been incredible! As Jet Set Radio is focused on creativity, the touch capabilities of the PlayStation Vita are proving to be a perfect fit,” revealed Haruki Satomi, Senior Vice President of Digital Business at Sega.

Developed by Smilebit, this yesteryear title is known mostly for pioneering the use of cel-shaded graphics in video games. It takes place in a futuristic city called Tokyo-to, and focuses on members of a gang who are striving to gain back their right to self-expression from an arrogant and corporate-controlled police force.

Summer 2012 has been announced to be the release window of Jet Set Radio for the PS Vita, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
