The news about the Uncharted: Fight for Fortune release date finally having being revealed after all those rumors might have come as music to the ears of dedicated fans of the series. But as was being speculated earlier, this PS Vita offering is indeed a card game, and hence will not deliver the trademark over-the-top action that one would expect from an Uncharted title. It is set to be launched via PSN on December 4, with its price tagged at 4.99 USD (approx. Rs. 275).
Sony is describing it to be an action-adventure turn-based card game that features heroes and villains from the franchise’s history. This title has been designed to tie into the Vita’s launch title, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, but it has been confirmed that it is not at all necessary to possess the latter in order to run this one. A trailer for the game was released yesterday through a post on the official PlayStation blog. It can be spotted in the space below.
SCEA Bend Studio leads the development process of Uncharted: Fight for Fortune, while Naughty Dog and Brazilian outfit, One Loop Games are also contributed to the process. The core gameplay of the title revolves around preparing a team of Faction cards that are affixed with pictures of heroes, villains, and mercenaries from the Uncharted universe. These teams will then be enabled to be used by gamers in order to defeat their opponents, and also to defend their own.
All the Faction cards that will be accessible will come equipped with powerful Resource and Fortune cards. These will augment players’ statistics and grant them special abilities. And as far as this game’s tie in with Uncharted: Golden Abyss goes, it is possible due to the 300+ treasures that have been infused into the latter. A new patch for it will be released, applying which will allow gamers to power up artifacts collected from Golden Abyss to be used within the new game.
As mentioned above, Uncharted: Fight for Fortune will be up for grabs for the PS Vita through PSN come December 4, 2012. It will go for just 4.99 USD (approx. Rs. 275).
