Hatoful Boyfriend brings bird-dating simulation to PS4 and PS Vita

Hatoful Boyfriend my sound outlandish, but it’s an extremely popular game in its home country Japan. Its makers have collaborated with publisher Devolver Digital in order to bring the game into the west with HD graphics for the PS4 and the PS Vita.

It’s slated to arrive on both these platforms on July 21 as a cross-buy game. This means buying it for either of the two consoles will let you play it on both the systems without any additional fee. Hatoful Boyfriend is already available to play on PC, Mac and Linux.

This weird game has you stepping into the shoes of a human girl who dates birds. Yes, you read that right! However, there are other major aspects to the title as well, including a dark story that involves a lot of exploration. The PlayStation versions will ship with much better graphics than the ones featured in the original.

Moreover, they will also come equipped with a whole new romance option featuring Tohri, who happens to be a character that previously only appeared in the Hatoful Boyfriend: Holiday Star sequel. This means even those who have played the previous version of the game have something new to look forward to.

Hatoful Boyfriend was first launched as a free flash game back in July 2011, but it was only in October that year that a complete version of it hit Japan. September 2014 saw a remake of its hitting PC, Mac and Linux, and it’s only now that it’s making its console debut.
