The Xtreme Legends expansion for Dynasty Warriors 8 is ready for deployment as a standalone PS3 game in North America and Europe, and will be launched by Tecmo Koei on March 25 and April 4, respectively, the publisher has confirmed. Furthermore, a Complete Edition containing the game and the new expansion will be released for the PS4 and the PS Vita on the same dates.
Since it’s a Japanese game, there’s bound to be a bit of a confusion regarding its naming. As explained by VG247, the Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition contains PS4 versions of both Dynasty Warriors 8 and Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends. And then there’s a Complete Edition for the PS Vita as well which too will comprise of the same setup. For the PS3, Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends is a standalone expansion.
The good news is that saved data can be imported across all platforms, so those who buy it for the PS4 or the Vita can continue their game from where they left it on their PS3s. The Xtreme Legends expansion for this beat ‘em up grants you access to fresh episodes featuring the warrior Lu Bu, and it even adds five new playable characters and an Ultimate difficulty option for the Free Mode. Moreover, it has even been equipped with ‘multiple hypothetical scenarios’ aimed at altering the plot lines of various episodes.
There is no pricing information available at the moment for this western release of Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends, but we’ll have more on it when more details are out.
