Sony Cambridge has 3 Unannounced Titles in Development?

The PlayStation 3 has been swarming with exclusives for almost a year now. Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain and the list keeps burgeoning with every passing day. As we come closer to E3, the reinstated mecca of video game conventions, more news about games just keeps flowing in.

In this line we have discovered Jon Torrens’ profile, which details that there is much more in store which gives us a hint that there are a lot more exclusives in the pipeline for Sony’s platform (PSP included). Sony Cambridge, who worked on the Little Big Planet port of the PSP, are hard at work on not one but three unannounced projects.

All 3 projects are concept pitches which give us a hint that these are completely new IPs that are under development. Cambridge Studios have not exactly produced a fully independent title post the release of Ghosthunter and Primal, the former being a homage to Ghostbusters and the latter being a mash between Soul Reaver and Tomb Raider. These guys have also played vital roles in helping out development studious that come under the Sony Computer Entertainment Europe umbrella, the most recent one being Killzone 2 out of the list of games.

This proposition of Sony Cambridge working on new games actually intrigues us since both their titles that were released on the PlayStation 2 were released during the time when the original Xbox was showcasing its graphical powers and then came both these first party games in addition to Virtua Fighter IV that showed that the PlayStation 2 could at some level match up to the beautiful visuals of the original Xbox.

We hope that once again Cambridge Studios will be bringing forth a game that surpasses the bar that has already been raised by both Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 on the current generation PlayStation 3 console, if their projects are oriented on that platform or bring forth a new set of games for the PlayStation Portable.
