Syphon Filter PS3 Development since 2008?

Everyone has been whispering about Gabe Logan’s sneaky return onto Sony’s PlayStation 3. The last rumour that we had heard about this project was with regard to a motion capture company working on facial animations for Syphon Filter 5. The series has always been in the shadow lurking around but never made the franchise as popular as other similar games in the genre.

However this is all set to change with our latest finding which shows us that Sony was/is indeed working the game on the PS3’s hardware. Christopher Reese’s LinkedIn profile shows us that he has worked on almost every Syphon Filter game that was produced since the glory days of the PlayStation 2 and his profile also happens to mention the fact that he was to “oversee and direct all technical advancements to meet AAA quality for the PS2, PSP, and PS3 hardware by continuing to build upon the very successful Syphon Filter franchise.”

Notice the line PS3 hardware in the sentence, this gives us a clear indication that the game was/is still in development for Sony’s power machine. However no official word on it has been released till date. For all we know, this game is being developed for the upcoming PlayStation 3 peripheral called “Move.” If it has indeed been in development since 2008 then the upcoming E3 show will truly be a showstopper for Sony’s platform if it also decides to announce the follow-up to Killzone 2 for its audience.
