Sony has finally settled its long running dispute with Immersion technologies, and is getting back on the bandwagon to shake up its consumers.
A popular blog called Inner Bits that has been following up on the whole news say:
- “Many have suspected that since the agreement [with Immersion], Sony will have been working on a new controller with rumble support. We can now confirm that this is the case. We’ve heard from two independent sources at Sony that they have been working on prototypes for several months. Officially, the corporate line is still “no comment”. Unofficially, Sony is facing some difficulties with battery life; i.e. between the rumble and the wireless support, the batteries are draining too fast to be acceptable for consumers.”
This new move that is yet to be announced will work both for and against Sony. It will manage to bring smiles to all those who prayed to the almighty, for the thundering force feedback to return, bullets flying off from guns shall finally have an effect to those who wined for being left out of the actual feeling of Resistance. Poor guys will still not know what revving up a chainsaw feels like (GOW)!
The plot will however turn in Sony’s face if they start charging an exorbitant price for their newest piece of technology, which is by no way new from any angle, they should offer free exchanges of the old SIXAXIS controller, since Sony officially refuses to comment on it, amongst all the other stuff it has kept under wraps its difficult to assess the impact of rumble immediately.
