Electronic Arts has now revealed that The Sims 3 Showtime Expansion Pack for PC and Mac will make its appearance felt in the gaming terrain by March next year. The forthcoming title which is currently in the works, will enable gamers to share their ‘rags to riches’ stories with friends and other players strewn all across the globe. This is possible through new social features that include separate in-game live updates and news feeds.
The expansion pack will keep gamers all the more connected with each other via a new SimPort feature. This inclusion allows them to enter into a friend’s game where they can mingle around with the characters and even perform in their universe as well as go on tour, book gigs and be reviewed. The rewards acquired by successfully accomplishing special challenges and goals can be tracked through in-game social wall posts.
“The Sims 3 Showtime is a huge step forward for The Sims franchise,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims Studio. “For the first time, we are introducing social features that allow you to send your Sims to a friend’s game, perform at their venue in front of their Sims where you both will earn rewards, and capture and share these in-game moments of your rise to fame.”
Furthermore, players can send gifts, share gameplay techniques and memories, post their Sims’ success, search for new friends and create wish lists, all via e-cards and in-game news feeds. There are special effects and props at the gamers’ disposal for personalizing their Sims’ stages and venues to create an indie club, massive stadium or concert hall, which in turn will affect the progression in their career. To further entice players, the title is infused with a plethora of gameplay opportunities, choices and situations for cause-and-effect hilarity and play.
The Sims 3 Showtime price reads at Rs. 599 and it is now up for pre-order. Gamers who take advantage of this offer will automatically be endowed with a special limited edition version that comprises of the Ultimate Stage venue which comes complete with in-game special effects, lights, backgrounds and props.
