Rock Band 2 Shipping to UK soon: MTV and Harmonix
We have seen a lot of collaboration between Harmonix and MTV Games in the past for Rock Band and the various DLC relating to the game. Now Harmonix and MTV Games have announced along with distribution partner Electronic Arts, the UK shipment of Rock Band 2 for the PS2 and PS3 and for the Nintendo Wii console.
Rock Band 2 will allow players to export almost all the songs from the original Rock Band disc, No Fail Mode, the daily Battle-Of-The-Band Tournaments, Online World Tour and a real Drum Trainer. Players can take the avatar of their band online and order custom Rock Band figures.
With the largest music catalog of any music videogame, the Rock Band 2 soundtrack features more than 100 tracks including the likes of AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam and many more artists.
Rock Band 2 players can even preview and download tracks from the online music store which comprises of upwards of 500 tracks. Up until now, more than 36 million tracks have been purchased on the Rock Band online store by users.
Rock Band 2 will be available in the UK from the fourth week of March for a price of about 49.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 3,650) for the PS3, and 29.99 GBP (approx Rs. 2,920) for the PS2. The game will release in the week of April 20, 2009 for the Nintendo Wii and will cost 39.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 2,190). Earlier the Xbox 360 version of the game had retailed for 49.99 GBP.
In the peripherals department, Rock Band guitars will be available separately for 39.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 2,190) and drums for 49.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 3,650). Also available in peripherals will be an “Instrument Edition” which includes a microphone, drums and guitar. This peripheral pack will retail at 89.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 6,570).
The entire Rock Band 2 pack, which will include the Rock Band software and the Rock Band Instrument Edition, will retail at 119.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 8,760) for the PS3 and the Xbox 360 and for a price of 109.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 8,030) for the Wii and the PS2.
