The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt sold 4 million copies in just two weeks

The numbers are in, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has received an overwhelming launch; no doubt about it. It has managed to sell off a whopping 4 million units in the span of just two weeks. That’s incredible for a game that’s not even available on last-gen consoles.

Through an open letter developer and publisher CD Projekt RED’s co-founder Marcin Iwinski has thanked fans for helping the game achieve this milestone. He has also mentioned that so many people wanting to spend their time and money on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a sign that the makers ‘did something right.’

He has promised that the developers will be harnessing this positive energy and dedicating it into creating great expansions for fans to dive into. And even right now, small DLC packs are being offered by the developers every week for free.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was launched for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on May 19, and was quick to get rave reviews from fans and ciritcs alike for its advanced and mature RPG offerings. It’s the third main game from the series and completes the trilogy that was aimed at telling the story of the main character. For those unaware, these titles are actually based on a series of fantasy novels by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski.

CD Projekt RED is currently also busy working on Cyberpunk 2077, another action-RPG that is based on the Cyberpunk series of tabletop role-playing games. It’s believed that the game will be launched in or after 2017.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt can be grabbed now for the PS4, the Xbox One and PC through major retailers from all over the world.
