Ragnarok Odyssey for PS Vita on its Way to US

Popular Japanese title Ragnarok Odyssey, was recently reported to have gained approval for PS Vita systems in the US. Developed by Game Arts and GungHo Online Entertainment, this title is slated for a 2012 launch and it will arrive in the country through XSEED Games.

Released in Japan back in February, the action RPG takes place in a landscape environment that’s similar to the Ragnarok Online universe. Tagging along fast-paced gameplay, it is based on Norse mythology and focuses mostly on melee combat. With humans and giants engaged in a war, the main objectives here are to fight monsters and slay giants.

The game is said to feature fully customizable characters that are selectable from 6 classes. Based on each choice, specific quests are set in place, which proffer upgrades and combat enhancements on completion. There’s a multiplayer mode as well. Cooperative gameplay allows a total of 4 players to journey through missions over ad-hoc.

Currently, the company hasn’t provided any concrete details on the Ragnarok Odyssey release date and price. All that’s known so far is that the game will be available for the PS Vita console in the US later this year.
