Game of Thrones, which is an action-RPG based on a series of books by George R. R. Martin and an HBO TV show by the same name, has been announced to hit the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC in early 2012. The original story of this title has been written under the supervision of Martin and features locations that are inspired from the various settings in the books.
Touted by its makers to be a 30-plus hour action-RPG, this game will involve players going into the medieval fantasy world of Westeros. The two original characters in this title are both former soldiers of Robert’s Rebellion and are faced with dissimilar motivations. Gamers will be required to fake alliances and fight battles in the ongoing war for power of the Seven Kingdoms. A number of quests would also form a part of this game, forcing players to interact with many characters and making key decisions.

This new game is all set to introduce the active slowdown tactical combat engine which is said to be reflective of the series’ ‘thoughtful’ approach to war and politics. The franchise on which this title is based on has apparently sold over 15 million books worldwide and its TV adaptation has garnered two primetime Emmy awards.
Game of Thrones is slated to hit store shelves in early 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It can currently be pre-ordered for consoles at 59.99 USD (approx. Rs. 2,956).
