Bastion Enters Chrome Web Store

Google Chrome users can jump to their Web Store now to enjoy a browser-based version of the popular action RPG, Bastion. Having been crafted to run especially for browsers, this game makes use of Google’s new Native Client technology, while delivering the title’s acclaimed 1080p artwork, reactive narration and musical score.

Released for the Xbox 360 and PC earlier this year, this title garnered quite some attention for its anime graphics and dynamic sounds. Developer Supergiant Games has revealed on its official blog that the Chrome version of this title requires a minimum of 1.7GHz dual core or greater processor and a memory of 2GB. A 512MB graphics card (shader model 2) or higher and 1GB of disk space are also needed for the game to function.

“Also, we owe a special thanks to all you folks who’ve taken the time to request Bastion for your gaming platform of choice. This new version means many of you should now be able to play Bastion for yourself. This is also a good time to reiterate our stance when it comes to bringing Bastion to other platforms: We have no confirmed plans for other versions of Bastion, though we haven’t ruled anything out for the future either. The quality of our game is our primary concern, and that means having to focus on developing for one platform at a time. We aim to be super careful about how we make these choices, to bring you the highest possible quality in any new game we make available,” Greg Kasavin, Writer and Designer at Supergiant Games, said on the blog.

Bastion 1

This action RPG was launched for the Xbox 360 via Xbox Live in July this year. The next month, it was ported to PC through Steam. The narrative of Bastion involves a catastrophic calamity which has suddenly ruptured the city of Caelondia. Gamers play as The Kid, who is faced with the task of coming to terms with what’s been taking place around him.
