Battlestar Galactica goes to Theatres for promotion of Microsoft’s Mass Effect

Microsoft is reportedly sponsoring special theatre showings of ‘Battlestar Galactica: Razor’ in an effort to promote the soon-to-released sci-fi RPG ‘Mass Effect’ game.

Mass Effect is one of the much awaited titles of the year which has been developed exclusively for the Xbox 360 console by BioWare.

Now, the Sci-Fi Channel in partnership with Microsoft will be hosting a special two-hour episode of “Battlestar Galactica” in movie theatres in eight US cities.

It is known that the episode “Razor” kicks off the final 22-hour season of the series. The best part about this is that all theatres showings are free of cost. The shows commence on November 12, 2007 in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Boston, Dallas and Seattle.

The Galactica TV series has been produced by NBC U TV. The special Razor episode has been written by Michael Taylor and has been directed by Felix Alcala. The episode stars Jamie Bamber and Michelle Forbes.

Also, all those who will be going to watch the “Battlestar Galactica” in movie theatres, they must be 17 years and older since the series is has a rating of TV-14. Not only that; Microsoft’s “Mass Effect” video game has also been rated “Mature”.

Variety is also reporting that around ten days after the network premiere, NBC Universal will release an unrated version of “Razor” on DVD.

Microsoft and BioWare’s “Mass Effect” Xbox 360 exclusive Sci-Fi RPG is slated for a November 20, 2007 release. Till then, such sort of entertainment will do everyone good!
