When the iPhone was unveiled at the CES 2007, people gasped over its graphics and there were murmurs about games on the phone. Now PopCap Games has announced that they have come up with a custom version of Bejeweled for the Safari browser, which is available on Apple’s iPhone.
Andrew Stein is the director of mobile platforms at PopCap Games. He says, “We are excited to be providing the most popular puzzle game of the 21st century to consumers of the most advanced mobile device yet created. We wanted to give the hundreds of thousands of iPhone users a fun, fast gaming fix, and at no cost, no less.”
Yes, it is true! The game is available free to iPhone users. All they have to do is log on the Pop Cap website and play the iPhone-specific version of the original match-3 puzzler Bejeweled for free. The Safari-based version of Bejeweled has been developed by PopCap Games in collaboration with Polish developer Arkadiusz Mlynarczyk.
