Four Addictive PC Games

Computer gaming has evolved significantly over the last two decades and the PC remains one of the most popular platforms for players that enjoy playing computer games. Some titles have proven to be very addictive with players over the years. Here is our list of the top addictive PC games.

Football Manager 2016

We start the list with arguably one of the most famously addictive games to have ever been developed. The SI Games title Football Manager 2016 has stolen countless hours from millions of players over the years. Ever since its first edition under the name of Championship Manager in 1992 when it was released on the Commodore 64 it has sucked in those that have dreamed of living the life of a football manager.

This latest edition took the addiction levels to a new depth. More in-depth training schedules, more specific player searches, even clearer graphics, and more players, clubs, and leagues being included than ever before. When players bought this game they were not just starting a new hobby. They were starting a new job. Marriages, teenage years, and jobs were all lost to this game and it shows no sign of letting the next generation escape from its merciless clutches. The potential to either manage a main stream club like Manchester United in the Premier League or take over the reigns at Dalum IF in Denmark’s second tier gives the game an unrivaled amount of scope.

Civilization 5

Anyone who grew up in the 1990s playing PC computer games will be familiar with the Sid Meier Civilization series. The turn-based strategy game series started life back in 1991 when the original Civilization was released. It included developers that went on to produce epic titles including Age of Empires and Rise of Nations showing the development power behind the original.

Fast forward to 2010 to the release of the latest instalment in the series with Civilization 5. Firaxis Games is the developer behind this latest version and players are once again tasked with guiding a civilization from prehistoric times into the future where aspects such as diplomacy, research, exploration, military, government, economic development, and expansion must be considered. The game has spawned several expansion packs including Gods and Kings and Brave New World that has ensured the longevity of the game’s appeal has continued to last with its players over the years as they commit hours of their real life to building this artificially intelligent people.

Zeus

This entry is slightly different to the rest on this list because it is a title that can not be bought. It is available to play at a range of online casinos that offer it in their slots portfolio. Zeus is a 5 reel, 30 payline slots game from developer Williams Interactive, a subsidiary of WMS Gaming, and it is a Greek mythology-themed title that is widely regarded as one of the greatest slots titles of all time.

Zeus gives players the chance to win some big money online with Wilds, Scatters, and free spins all included to create an opportunity for a big win. Many players have lost many hours chasing those big wins. The game has proved to be so successful online that it has inspired its developer to release a number of titles including Zeus II, available only as a social slots game, Zeus III, and Zeus 1000. It has also been credited with leading the charge of Greek mythology-themed slots at online casinos across the globe. Imitation is the purest form of flattery after all.

Online slot based games have been around for many years. However, with film-based and existing game-based slots, more and more players are interested in playing. Not only does it give it a different twist but slot games have become even more interactive. Fallout 4

One of the most critically acclaimed titles of the year was Fallout 4 but it attracted most of its praise on the PS4 and Xbox One consoles. However, it was also released for the PC and it was just as enjoyable on that platform. Developed by Bethesda Game Studios it took players into a post-apocalyptic world where survival is everything.

  fallout

The original Fallout was released back in 1997 and this latest version shows just how far the series has come. Players have invested an insane number of hours into this game with the open world setting providing so much exploration potential and time-consuming tasks. Players play as the main character who comes out from an underground bunker called Vault 111 over 210 years after a nuclear war. It is the year 2287 and the location is Boston in the US. The possibility of players being able to bring in friends to co-op with them in the open world setting means players can work together as well as on their own and that only adds to the addiction levels. The key to the appeal of this game comes from the start where an intro video showing the back story of the main character the player is taking control of is shown and players are then emotionally invested from the very start until they eventually reach the game’s conclusion.
