Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will hit PCs on same date as console versions

September 15 was supposed to be the date on which Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain would hit the PC platform, but its arrival has been bumped forward by Konami to match its console counterparts. This means the game will be released for the PS3, the PS4, the Xbox 360, the Xbox One as well as PC on September 1.

Moreover, it has also been revealed that all Steam customers will be blessed with extra stuff like a behind-the-scenes documentary and small DLC benefits like the Venom Snake emblem and extra Mother Base Staff. Those who pre-order the game on Valve’s platform will be provided with a free copy of its prologue, Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes as well.

The Phantom Pain will of course be able to run in 4K resolution on compatible PCs. As per a partnership Konami has struck with Nvidia, anyone who purchases a qualifying GeForce GTX GPU will be granted a bonus copy of MGS game along with it.

While the fact that PC gamers will get to play the title along with their console friends is great news for them, they will indeed have to wait for a long time in order to get into Metal Gear Online. It is supposed to go live for console owners on October 6, but it will only be seen arriving for PC sometime in the month of January next year.

Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is Hideo Kojima’s final game with Konami. Things have gone so sour between the two parties that the publisher has removed all references to the developer from the box art of the game.
