Razer Launches PC Gaming Is Not Dead Website

Razer seems to have adopted a rather unique promotion tactic for its mystery creation titled PC Gaming Is Not Dead. The peripheral manufacturer is targeting PC gamers who are not at all content with all the attention being directed only at consoles. Razer has launched the PC Gaming Is Not Dead website, a dedicated domain which is outwardly looking to generate curiosity among gamers about something which won’t be unveiled until August 26th 2011.

PC Gaming Is Not Dead Website

The website, on its old-school computer-like interface flashes the words, ‘just heard that PCs got replaced by consoles.’ The words, ‘Demise’ and ‘PC Gaming’ are then shown on the screen further going on to convey the message that there is something ‘terribly’ wrong with gaming today. At the right on the web page lies a countdown which is giving a second-by-second account of the time left for this mystery to be unveiled.

We know, fingers can easily be pointed at Razer’s January unveil titled Switchblade. This mobile PC gaming device is expected to be doled out with Intel’s Atom processor. Running on Windows 7 OS this Razer concept bears a 7-inch multi-touch screen and dynamic tactile keyboard.

On registering ourselves with the website, we were informed with a message which read, ‘You are now one step closer to joining us against the tyranny of closed networks. It is time to stand up against shoddy console ports and sub-par console graphics. It is time to return to the original gaming platform. 26th August 2011. Mark this date down. It is coming.’

August 26, 2011 is also the opening date of PAX Prime and hence gamers who are tired of being sidelined due to the rise of consoles can expect something exciting from the PC Gaming Is Not Dead campaign by Razer.
