PC Version of Alan Wake Currently Not on the Cards: Häkkinen

PC gamers often boast about their platform’s flexibility while console players manifest their skills with controllers. However, all games coming out in the market are not designed for multiple platforms. Those who have been hoping to load Alan Wake on their computer screens may be disappointed. In a recent interview with Eurogamer, Remedy Entertainment’s head of franchise development, Oskari Häkkinen, revealed that the Alan Wake’s PC version is currently not being considered.

When asked about the arrival of the PC version to the gaming scene, Oskari Häkkinen answered, “I could never say it’s impossible, but it’s certainly not on the cards at the moment.” He further added, “We want the Remedy brand to be a seal of quality. Doing a half-assed PC version wouldn’t be an option for us. Rather, if we do it, we’ll do it properly.”

According to Häkkinen, the development of the game for PC would require a longer duration. This is mainly because of the compact size of the team behind the title and Remedy’s commitment to producing superior quality games. But, the head of the franchise has not completely erased the option. With the release of the recent game add-on dubbed ‘The Signal’ for the exclusive Xbox 360 title, both Microsoft and Remedy are still assessing the main game.

Furthermore while replying to a query with regards to Alan Wake 2, Häkkinen responded, “With Microsoft Game Studios it’s Xbox exclusive, or it’s Xbox and PC version.” For now, Alan Wake doesn’t seem to be traversing out of the Xbox 360 periphery any time soon. But as the developer mentioned, the road to the PC is not close yet.
