It is well known that Acclaim Games has moved to a model where they provide free massively multiplayer online games but gamers have to pay for the bonus in-game content. However, there was a small problem as there were many gamers who had issues while downloading huge set-up files of the games from the internet.
Now Acclaim Games has inked a deal with SwiftCD.com, which will let gamers receive CDs or DVDs of the game. The CD/DVD versions of the games will remain free, but gamers will have to pay something towards the shipping and the handling. Jason Foodman, CEO of SwiftCD.com remarks, “Offering a physical delivery choice makes curtains that everyone who is interested in experiencing the magic Acclaim has created will have the ability to play these amazing games.”
But even though the games are touted to be free and the costs are attributed to shipping and handling, the costs are different for the games. The price of Bots in US is $3.99 (approx. Rs. 160) and internationally, it is $4.99 (approx. Rs. 200). However, 9Dragons is priced at $5.99 (approx. Rs. 240) in the U.S. and $6.99 (approx. Rs. 280) internationally.
