“Alien” Games Rights Awarded To Sega
Sega has bagged the rights from 20th Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising for a series of games based on the “Alien” movies. Sega will be creating a first-person shooter as well as a role-playing game for the next gen consoles and the PC.

Rob Lightner, VP Business Development, said Sega “We haven’t finalized anything at this point, but everything is on the table. It’s important for everyone to understand the difference here: We’re taking licensing to the next level with this franchise.” Sega is in talks with the movie series’ actors, including Sigourney Weaver and Lance Henriksen, to provide their likenesses and voices for the new games.
Though 20th Century Fox has kept the game rights to Alien Vs Predator to themselves for now, there is a possibility that the AVP games could also be developed. The first game for the Aliens will be released by Sega in 2008.
