OnLive App Outed to Stream Console-Class Games on Tablets and Smartphones

Cloud gaming surely seems to have reached new heights with yesterday’s launch of the OnLive app which looks to bring mainstream games onto tablets and smartphones. Almost all the games from OnLive’s library of roughly 200 titles will be playable with the help of the new OnLive Wireless Controller.

Furthermore, 25 new games including L.A. Noire and Lego: Batman, have been tailored for touch-screen controls on the concerned devices. OnLive makes use of the cloud to stream high-end games through the Internet. This has enabled gamers to play titles on their PCs, Macs and TVs, no matter what the performance of their local device is. And now, with the release of the new OnLive app, the same services will make their way onto tablets and smartphones.

Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4, 5-7, Defense Grid Gold, Batman: Arkham City, Assassin’s Creed: Revelations and Lord of the Rings: War in the North are names of some of the games that are available via this service. Moreover, every title purchased on any one of the OnLive devices, can be played other either TVs, PCs, Macs, tablets or smartphones with full support for saved data.

The OnLive app is now available as a free download for tablets and smartphones. The OnLive Wireless Controller will be released soon in the US and the UK at 49.99 USD (approx Rs. 2,585) and and 39.99 GBP (approx. Rs. 3,252) respectively.
