Though gaming is associated with kids, there is not a proper gaming site dedicated to kinds in India. But all that is about to change as Zapak has announced Zapak Kids, which they tout, is the country’s first ever gaming destination for kids. They also announced a tie-up with Amitabh Bachchan’s eagerly awaited movie, Bhoothnath.
Amitabh Bachchan said, “Kids are becoming more and more important today, various brands are vying for their mindshare. When I came to know that we are doing merchandising extensions for Bhoothnath with Zapak, I was very thrilled. It’s got great games and some very cool pranks that are sure to be a hit with children just like the movie.”
Rohit Sharma, COO, Zapak Digital Entertainment Limited remarked, “Kids aged 14 years and below constitute to over 25% of Zapak users online also serving as the stickiest and the most loyal users on our site, this is definitely an area of focus for Zapak. Zapak Kids is a specially created segment to cater to this audience. Bhoothnath presented us with an interesting opportunity to create gaming based merchandise around the movie. We believe these games will be well accepted by kids particularly the Zapak Bucchki will recreate the Beyblades fad for the Indian market.”
The Bhoothnath Game Pack Series contains a game CD that features a full version of a mystery based title. The pack will also have a Bucchki toy, which is basically a high speed spinning toy for kids. The packs are priced at Rs. 99, Rs. 149 & Rs. 169 and would be available through the Zapak Cards network. Zapak has also put up a microsite for Bhoothnath. As for Zapak Kids, they have a put up a game called as Bhooth Attack with Bhoothnath, where kids can register high scores and win prizes.
